Founded in the summer of '02, monkeyhead was a joke between friends.  An imaginary band that rocked air guitars.  Later on guys picked up real guitars and started jamming in garages.  Band members and jam sessions came and went until the final and current lineup was formed.  Monkeyhead rocks out as a trio and is a style all their own.  Generally labeled "indie" because of the simple sound, and not too complex hooks, monkeyhead is always reaching for new ground.  3 home made albums have shown monkeyhead's continuous growth in both music & lyric writing.

Band is currently getting back into the swing of things with this new website up and running, practices going on again, and new songs being written.  The band was on a couple months break as of late because of finals and over working.  Pray for the guys as they begin to go back into playing together.

"Humility is powerful.  I get caught up in trying to be cool or trying to act like everyone else.  God always trips me up and i fall flat on my face.  I am a loser.  I don't deserve anything.  God's grace makes life not fair.  That's why its God's grace.  Without it i really would be a loser, i wouldn't have anything to live for.  I'm practicing humility.  Being humble is a great feeling.  Pride is such a bad thing.  I hope the world can see that there is more to life than you and me.  Our life is a blinking light in the mass line of time.  We should do something while we are here."
